In addition, as you dial, the dialled number is compared to your iPhone address book and the contact is displayed as soon as it is recognised. In that way you know that you are on the right track. Touching the centre of the dial plate opens the iPhone address book to allow direct dialling. The sound as well as the vibration can be deactivated to prevent others from being disturbed.
