Tuvan Talking Dictionary

Tuvan Talking Dictionary sehr gutes Programm aus BoCoSoft,Inc.

Release-Datum 14 years ago 1.1 version.
This is a dictionary for the Tuvan Language, a Turkic language spoken in the Republic of Tuva in south-central Siberia in Russia.

Over 2900 entries in the dictionary have audio clips to show how a word is pronounced by a native speaker.

Minority languages are being increasingly replaced by various politically, economically, or socio-culturally dominant ones. Every two weeks the last fluent speaker of a language passes on and with him/her goes literally hundreds of generations of traditional knowledge encoded in these ancestral tongues. Nearly half of the worlds languages are likely to vanish in the next 100 years.

The mission of the Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages is to promote the documentation, maintenance, preservation, and revitalization of endangered languages worldwide through linguist-aided, community-driven multi-media language documentation projects.

This Tuvan dictionary is compiled by Gregory D. S. Anderson and K. David Harrison in 1997-2006. The authors retain copyright of the dictionary and its contents.
